Jumping over Flags is Not Enough

I dreamed of princes. I woke to scales, moustaches and fungus.

I wanted whole new worlds, kisses that woke me from slumber. I grew my hair out, hoping to escape.

I found myself in dungeons and sewers, and the kisses weren’t much better.

Where were Han Solo, Charming and Link?

At midnight, I sneak out of the castle, past the pipes and the beanstalks.

I kiss toadstools, hoping they’ll turn into you.
