Spring and Skin

It’s too easy to fall in love in the city during Spring—there is too much skin. A small tattoo peaking past a sleeve, a patch of pale skin revealed after months of hibernation.  After months of gray, out come sun dresses and t-shirts and suddenly I realize how beautiful everyone is under their layers of coats and sweaters and hats and scarves. 

 

So I fall in love with you.  And you.  And you.  500 times a day, in parks, on public transit, on sidewalks and stairwells.

 

I wonder if you love me, too?
